3D Technology Education

(10 Sessions, 1 per week)

Our 3D Printing and Modelling classes are designed to teach you how to take your favorite things from pop culture and bring them to life using technology.  Students will be thrusted into the world of 3D Printing and Technology learning all of the basics required to find your niche.  By the end of the program you will be able to bridge the gap between the real world and the digital world giving you full access to amazing new opportunities in the digital entertainment industries.

3D Modeling

  • Learn how to use Fusion 360, CURA, Blender, ZBrush
  • Create original models from your own imagination
  • Obtain skills to work with models from your favorite media (video games, movies, and more)
  • Utilize your new skills to build a portfolio for the digital entertainment industry

3D Scanning

  • Learn about the different industry standards
  • Utilize Peel 3D Technology to create scans that are accurate down to .1 mm
  • Build skills necessary to clean up scans and get them ready as digital assets
  • Get a near perfect scan of your face or body and print cosplay items that fit perfectly

3D Printing

  • Learn Industry standards taught by our Certified Additive Manufacturing Technicians
  • Create real world objects that rival the Hollywood industry
  • Understand when to use Resin vs FDM and get the most out of each
  • Service your tabletop ambitions and bring your next campaign ideas to life

Courses for Teens, Adults and Couples

We offer our 10 week course on 3D Printing and Modelling for teenagers, adults and couples. Any two members of the same household will qualify for a couples rate.

Each participant (or couple) will be assigned a printer within the workshop for the 10 week course.  All filament and post-processing supplies are provided.  If your print requires an electronics component we will  be able to order it for you from BC Robotics (Nanaimo) or one of the BC owned Robotics shops on the mainland.  All electronics components will require an extra charge.

All students (couples) in the Adult Classes receive:

  • Six to Twelve 3D printed items
  • A spot in our quarterly art gallery
  • Up to $200 off of the price of a new printer

All students in the Youth Classes will receive:

  • Five to Ten 3D Printed Items,
  • A spot in our Art Gallery Showcase at the end of September
  • $50, $100, or $200 off a 3d Printer of their choosing (Discount levels are dependent on the cost and size of the printer).

When reserving your seat for a course using our online booking system, be sure you select the correct start day for your desired course.  

 

Continuing Education

Advanced 3D Printing and Modelling for Adults

Welcome to our advanced class for adult learners (Aged 18 and above), where we explore the dynamic fusion of pop culture and state-of-the-art technology. In this course, participants will dive into the mesmerizing world of 3D printing, and beyond, mastering the intricacies of articulating prints, animated rigging in Blender, and the cutting-edge technique of printing directly onto diverse materials like fabric and more.

Through immersive learning, attendees will develop an in-depth understanding of these advanced concepts, enabling them to explore and cultivate their unique passions. As the program culminates, participants will possess the prowess to seamlessly blend the tangible and digital realms, unlocking a multitude of thrilling opportunities in the digital entertainment industries.
